It is disappointing to see comments about the use of mediation by divorcing couples reported in this way.

Mediation involves both parties sitting down together over a number of sessions with a trained mediator who assists them in negotiating towards an agreement about their finances, the arrangements for their children, or both. There will always be cases where this is not appropriate, particularly where one party is abusive, bullying or manipulative. However, for most couples it is a cheaper, quicker and more amicable option than dealing with things solely through solicitors or ending up in court.

At Freeths, we have specialist mediators who are experienced in helping divorcing couples reach a settlement that suits them both.
