Today was notification day for many parents across the country, confirming if their child has been offered a place at their first choice of primary school.
The decision can have far reaching consequences for the children and their parents if the school is either geographically difficult, or does not cater for the child's specific needs.
It is possible to appeal the decision, and such appeals consider the admission criteria and if these were applied fairly, then looks at harm likely to the school if an additional place were to be offered, and the harm to the child if it were not offered a place. More information can be found at:-
You can put your child’s name down on the waiting (or continued interest) list at up to three schools. Waiting lists will be discontinued on 30 June 2017. If you aren't happy with the offer you have been made, you have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel.
