A dry subject perhaps, but an important one..

In accordance with the Practice Direction to the Family Procedure Rules 27, which came into effect on 31 July 2014, court bundles must be limited to 350 pages and contained in one A4 lever arch file.

But, the difficulty is that this isn't always possible, particularly when there are complex issues involved and this was the situation we were faced with on a recent case.

Cases in the High Court have to have what is called a Pre-Trial Review Hearing and it's at that hearing one of the things that a Judge wants to know, is what will be in the court bundle for the Final Hearing.

We obtained the Court's permission for the bundle to exceed the usual 350 page limit, but this highlights the difficulty often facing lawyers when preparing cases for Court.
